SignSealShip vs Proof (Notarize.com)
Proof ends at the sealed PDF. We finish the delivery.
Proof built the category and runs a serious identity platform. On a bare seal, they're cheaper than us — we'll show you that math below, not hide it. The difference is everything that happens after the seal.
THE RECEIPT ARGUMENT
One affidavit, notarized online and mailed to the courthouse
Read both sides fairly: on the seal alone, Proof is $41.60 cheaper. What you're buying from us is the rest of the job — the e-sign workflow, the KMS-sealed evidence pack, and a tracked envelope that actually arrives.

CREDIT WHERE DUE
Where Proof is the better choice
- Enterprise identity programs — verification at scale for lenders, title platforms, and large legal operations is their core business.
- You need SOC 2 certification today. Proof holds it; ours is on the roadmap, not on the wall — and we won't pretend otherwise.
- Pure notarization à la carte: their add-on prices ($15 extra seal, $10 witness, $10 extra signer) are lower than ours line for line.
- Deep API integration under an enterprise contract, with the platform team to support it.
THE OTHER SIDE
When to choose SignSealShip
- The original must physically arrive somewhere — recorder, court, title company, embassy — with a prepaid label or automated print-and-mail, tracked on the same order.
- You want e-sign, notarization, and delivery on one itemized receipt instead of a sealed PDF and a to-do list.
- You want business features without an annual contract — our per-document business rates and partner plans are published, not quoted.
- You care about the evidence pack: KMS-sealed PDF verifiable in Adobe Acrobat, SHA-256 hash-linked audit trail, Certificate of Completion on every order.
- You want the honest per-state answer on remote notarization before you pay, not after.
SignSealShip vs Proof, answered
Is SignSealShip cheaper than Proof?
For a single seal you deliver yourself — honestly, no. Proof's $25 consumer price (as published, July 2026) is less than our $49, and their add-ons ($15 per extra seal, $10 per witness, $10 per extra signer) are cheaper line for line than ours too. Where the totals flip is when the document has to go somewhere: our $66.60 sample covers notarization plus the original printed, mailed USPS Priority, and tracked to the door — a job Proof doesn't offer at any price. You'd add your own printing, envelope, a trip to the counter, and retail postage on top of their $25.
What does SignSealShip's $49 include that Proof's $25 doesn't?
Both prices include the live notary session, identity verification, and the first seal. Ours adds the e-sign workflow (Proof charges $4 per e-signed document), a PDF sealed with Google Cloud KMS asymmetric keys that verifies in Adobe Acrobat, a Certificate of Completion, and a receipt that shows the $25 notary fee passed through at cost with our fee on its own labeled line — plus the option to add tracked delivery of the original in the same checkout.
Can Proof ship my notarized original?
No — as of July 2026, Proof has no shipping rail; their product ends at the sealed electronic document. SignSealShip can finish with a prepaid self-ship label or fully automated print-and-mail, tracked live, which is the difference when a county recorder, court clerk, or title company needs paper in hand.
Do I need a subscription with Proof or SignSealShip?
SignSealShip: never — pay-per-document is the default for everyone. Proof: consumers can pay per notarization, but API access and team features are gated behind Premium and Enterprise annual contracts, and business pricing sits inside plan matrices rather than a public per-item price list (as published, July 2026).
When is Proof the better choice?
If you're an enterprise running identity verification and notarization at scale — lenders, title platforms, large legal operations — Proof's identity platform, SOC 2 certification, and enterprise API programs are exactly what they've built for years. And if all you ever need is a bare seal at the lowest per-item price, their à-la-carte fees are lower than ours. We're the better pick when the job is bigger than the seal: sign, notarize, and deliver, on one receipt, with no contract.
Don't stop at the seal. Finish the delivery.
