What exactly is SignSealShip?
A document-completion platform. You bring your own completed document; we provide the workflow around it — legally binding e-signatures, coordination of a live online notarization with a commissioned notary, and tracked physical delivery — a prepaid self-ship label or automated print-and-mail of the completed document. Any combination, one itemized checkout, no membership.
Do you prepare or review documents?
No, never. SignSealShip is a technology platform, not a law firm: we cannot tell you which document you need, prepare or complete it for you, or review it for legal sufficiency. If you need document help, consult a licensed attorney — then come back and we'll handle signing, notarization, and shipping.
Do signers or recipients need accounts?
No. Co-signers get secure links and sign from any device — no account, no app, and they never pay. Only the person placing the order checks out.
LEGALITY & SECURITY
Are electronic signatures legally binding?
Yes. E-signatures executed with proper intent, consent, and record integrity are legally binding under the federal ESIGN Act and UETA (adopted in 49 states). Every SignSealShip signature carries a hash-linked, tamper-evident audit trail recording who signed, when, from where, and how their identity was verified — the same evidence package courts see from the biggest e-sign platforms.
Is online notarization recognized everywhere?
Remote online notarization is fully authorized in 43 states plus DC, and notarizations performed lawfully under a commissioning state's RON law are generally recognized across state lines. A handful of states restrict in-state RON or specific document types — our state pages give the straight answer for each, and we check your combination before you pay.
What's in the audit trail?
Per-event UTC timestamps, signer identity and verification method, IP and device data, document hashes captured before and after signing, and the consent record — assembled into a certificate of completion and sealed so any later modification is detectable.
MONEY
When am I charged?
Once, at checkout, after you've seen the fully itemized quote. Nothing is fulfilled before payment clears, and nothing is charged after it without your say-so.
What's your refund policy?
If we haven't performed the work, you get your money back. Completed notarizations consume the notary's fee; purchased postage is refundable only within carrier void windows. We itemize exactly what's refundable in every case, and you only pay for completed notarizations.
WHEN THINGS GO WRONG
What if I fail identity verification?
The knowledge-based quiz allows limited attempts; failing locks online verification for 24 hours under identity-proofing rules. We'll lay out your options immediately — biometric verification where available, retrying after the lock, or a refund.
What if my shipment goes sideways?
Every shipment is tracked and watched. Exceptions — weather, address issues, carrier delays — page a human on our side, and we work the problem with you and the carrier until the documents land.
How do I get help mid-order?
Every order page has a direct help link that lands in our operations queue with your full order context attached — no re-explaining. Business customers on partner plans get priority handling.
