Common questions
Does a bill of sale have to be notarized?
That depends on who is asking for it. Some states' motor-vehicle agencies want a notarized bill of sale for title transfer; many private sales only need signatures. Check with the office or party receiving the document — they decide what they require. If they do want notarization, this workflow handles it end to end.
Can the buyer and seller sign in different places?
